The MartinLogan Sound
MartinLogan subwoofers are uniquely engineered to keep pace with the exotic thin film technologies utilized in MartinLogan loudspeakers. With a focus on high performance and decor friendly design, MartinLogan subwoofers expertly blend audiophile musicality, theatrics, and precision with powerful output, all into a compact space.
Abyss Heritage
MartinLogan’s original Abyss subwoofer was a larger, more powerful version of the original Dynamo subwoofer. The modern Abyss Series subwoofers carry on that legacy with a new twist. Instead of simply being a larger version of Dynamo, Abyss Series subwoofers use a unique Hybrid Woofer System in order to increase performance while keeping the size to a minimum.
10” Hybrid Aluminum Woofer System
Abyss Subwoofers use custom, aluminum, Klippel-optimized woofers for high output and low distortion. Aluminum’s light weight, high strength, and excellent heat dissipation make it ideal for use in subwoofers. The hybrid woofer system combines an active woofer with two passive radiators, delivering the output and low distortion of a ported design, while maintaining the compact size and tight bass of a sealed design.
Magnitude MT-1.6kW Amplifier
MartinLogan’s proprietary Magnitude Amplifiers unleash the full potential of the custom engineered Abyss woofers. The highly advanced Magnitude MT-1.6kW delivers up to 1600w Peak (800w RMS) of clean power for incredible impact, and effortless musicality. The ultra-efficient Class-D Magnitude MT-1.6kW delivers outstanding power with incredible precision and control ensuring an immersive experience for all your favorite content.
Ultra High Resolution Vojtko DSP Engine
Abyss subwoofers feature the cutting-edge Vojtko DSP engine, named after MartinLogan’s Chief Audio Technologist. With a best-in-class 500MHz DSP and 64-bit processing, it controls all aspects of subwoofer performance in real time. This level of computing power enables advanced wireless app control, integrated wireless signal connection, and other advanced functions, while providing maximum output and fidelity in any situation.
Integrated Anti-Vibration Feet
Abyss’s Anti-Vibration Feet improves bass performance by dramatically reducing the energy transfer between the subwoofer and the floor. Unwanted room rattles and buzzes are removed, leaving tighter, cleaner bass and improved system clarity and dynamics. As a less intrusive alternative to acoustic room treatments, Abyss’s integrated anti-vibration feet can also help minimize noise complaints by reducing vibration transfers into adjoining rooms.
Subwoofer Control App
By far the most convenient way to adjust a subwoofer, MartinLogan’s Subwoofer Control app for iOS and Android devices allows you to easily adjust settings like Volume, DSP Mode, Phase, and many others right from the comfort of your seat for ultimate control and ease of tuning.
ARC Genesis Ready
Abyss subwoofers are compatible with the award winning Anthem Room Correction system. This highly advanced software measures subwoofer performance in your room and then performs custom equalization, tuning, and calibration to achieve the highest levels of bass impact, and accuracy possible in your specific installation. Requires an ARC Calibration Microphone and PC or Mac computer (sold separately).
Built-In Wireless Connection
Although correct placement plays a key role in optimizing subwoofer performance, getting a cable where you need it can be challenging. To solve the problem, Abyss subwoofers incorporate a built-in Wireless Receiver for use with the included Wireless Subwoofer Transmitter. With quick and easy setup, eliminating cable clutter has never been easier and with lossless transmission and low latency, even the most discerning enthusiast will be thrilled with the results.
Inputs
Abyss subwoofers advanced Magnitude amplifiers have a suite of connection options available. In addition to the built-in wireless option, Abyss subwoofers offer LFE RCA, Stereo RCA, LFE XLR, and Speaker Level Connections for maximum flexibility. Dynamo subwoofers also have an RCA Output making it easy to add additional subwoofers to any system.
